Bible Reading

Feel free to use this chart to help you read through the New Testament. It's only 1 chapter a day for 5 days a week.
Day Reading
Monday Mark 11
Tuesday Mark 12
Wednesday Mark 13
Thursday Mark 14
Friday Mark 15

  • Mark 11:15 marks the 2nd time Jesus clears the temple. The people should have learned the lesson the 1st time (recorded in John 2).
  • Mark 12:13 is interesting. They asked Jesus if they should pay taxes or not? The Herodians were for Rome and paying taxes. The Pharises were anti-Rom and didn't want to pay taxes.
  • Mark 12:28 – Essentially the questions was: Of the 248 precepts and 365 laws, which 1 is the greatest?
  • Mark 14:26 – The hymn that they sang after the Last Supper was probably Psalms 115-118, which were sung after the Passover Meal.
  • Mark 10:19 – "Do not defraud" is not in the 10 commandments, but it's a corollary to not stealing and not lying.

How to Read the Bible*:

Read is daily, not as a newspaper, but as a letter from your Heavenly Father – as a letter from home.

When a cluster of Heavenly fruit hangs within your reach, gather it.

When a promise lies upon its pages as a blank check, cash it.

When a prayer is recorded, appropriate it and launch it as a feathered arrow from the bow of your desire.

When an example of holiness gleams before you, ask God to do as much for you.

When the truth of Christ is revealed in all its intrinsic splendor, entreat that His glory and beauty may ever irradiate the hemisphere of your life.

(*Yes, this is repeated from last week. However, this is appropriate since we are starting a new reading through the Bible.)
