1 & 2 Kings were written by Jeremiah to the Israelites in Palestine.

·      1 Kings 19:18 – Kissing Baal meant kissing his idol, which showed loyalty.

·      1 Kings 22:17 – Kings were often called shepherds.

·      1 Kings 22:44 – His father, Aca, had been at war with the king of Israel.

·      1 Kings begins united under David and ends divided with the death of wicked Ahab.

·      2 Kings 2:3 – "Sons of the prophets" was a school of prophets.

 

2 Chronicles was written by Ezra to Israel.

       

Matthew was written by Matthew to Greek speaking Jews.

·      Matthew 4:18 – Capernaum was the largest of 30 or so fishing towns on the Sea of Galilee.

Wednesday, August 15 – Covered Dish at 6:30pm, Bible Study after meal.

Living Honorably In This World (1 Peter 2:11-17)

·      Live honorably in general by having good behavior and actions.

·      Live honorably toward the government and authorities by respecting and obeying them.

·      Live honorably toward everyone by respecting everyone, loving other Christians, and respecting the king (president, mayor, governor, etc.).
