Here are the Bible readings for this upcoming week. Feel free to read the entire thing, just the NT, or just the OT:

Proverbs was mostly written by Solomon and probably during the early part of his reign.
· Proverbs 22:17-23:11 is similar to the "Instructions of Amenemope"
· Proverb 24:28 is the opposite of the Golden Rule.
Romans was written by Paul to Roman Christians.
· Romans 15:28 – Spain was considered by many as the western end of the civilized world.
1 Thessalonians was written by Paul to the Thessalonian church.
· 1 Thessalonians 3 – Paul wasn't allowed to return, so Timothy went.

Sat-Sun, June 16-17 – VBS Decorating and Setup
Sun, June 17 – Father's Day – we will not have evening services / activities.
Mon-Fri, June 18-22 – VBS – 6pm til 8:30pm. Invite your kids, friend's kids, and all other kids to our "Game On" VBS. Each night, we'll have an Intro, Meal, Bible study, Crafts, Recreation, Missions, and Music. Please pray for our VBS: for the workers and for the kids to be drawn closer to the Lord.
June 23 – Bladen Teen Challenge (women's addiction recovery) will have an open house from 9am-2pm at 1456 Lula Long Rd. You can also donate Office supplies, pillows, dry goods, and canned goods that Saturday or get them to the pastor.
Sermon Highlights
When we surrender our lives to the Lord, the Holy Spirit helps us to have the right mental filter.
That filter is given in Philippians 4:8 – "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things."
