Proverbs was mostly written by Solomon and probably during the early part of his reign.

·       Proverbs 31:1 – King Lemuel may have been Solomon, or may have been another ruler.

Song of Solomon was written by Solomon and probably during the early part of his reign in Israel.

 

1 Kings was written by Jeremiah to the Israelites in Palestine.

 

2 Chronicles was written by Ezra to Israel.

        

1 Thessalonians was written by Paul to the Thessalonian church.

 

2 Thessalonians was written by Paul to the Thessalonian church.

·       Chapter 2 – Paul wanted them to find balance: The Lord will return, it could be today, but still work.

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Sun, June 17 – VBS Decorating and Setup

 

Sun, June 17 – Father's Day – we will not have evening services / activities.

 

Mon-Fri, June 18-22 – VBS – 6pm til 8:30pm. Invite your kids, friend's kids, and all other kids to our "Game On" VBS. Each night, we'll have an Intro, Meal, Bible study, Crafts, Recreation, Missions, and Music. Please pray for our VBS: for the workers and for the kids to be drawn closer to the Lord.

 

June 23 – Bladen Teen Challenge (women's addiction recovery) will have an open house from 9am-2pm at 1456 Lula Long Rd. You can also donate cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet tissue, dry goods, and canned goods that Saturday or get them to the pastor.


Sermon Highlights

 

As Fathers and Christians, let's emulate Paul's…

·       Concern for others – in general and specifically

·       Striving for perfection – "press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil 3:14)

·       Effort to save the lost – wherever we are, and to all, as God gives us opportunity

·       Joy in suffering – finding our joy in Christ, despite the situation.

 

At the end of our life, may we boldly say, "The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do…" (Phil 4:9)
